This section explains the pre-flight checklist for plant protection drones to ensure flight safety. Before takeoff, the plant protection drone should thoroughly inspect the takeoff and landing area as well as the flight zone. A spacious and level area should be selected as the takeoff and landing point, and it is strictly prohibited to take off and land on busy roads with heavy pedestrian traffic. The operational area should be checked for obstacles, and advance inspection and planning should be done for trees, utility poles, and other obstacles. After the basic environmental survey and preparation, you can start the drone. First, check the remote controller. Ensure that the remote controller has sufficient battery power. It is recommended to operate with at least one bar of battery power. If the external battery of the remote controller is low on power, it should be charged and replaced promptly. The antenna should be pointed in the correct direction to avoid pointing it towards the aircraft. During this time, the signal strength of the remote controller is lowest. Confirm whether the remote sensing mode matches your preferred operation mode; if not, it should be modified. Unfold the plant protection drone and make sure all latches are secured tightly. Check if the propellers of the drone can unfold properly. Damaged propellers with cracks should be replaced promptly. Prepare to install the battery and confirm that the lithium battery has sufficient charge. The power distribution board of the plant protection drone should not have any black or green oxide or corrosion. If any is found, it should be replaced promptly. Insert the battery from the top, and you should hear a distinct clicking sound to confirm that the battery is securely installed. Short press and long press the battery power button to turn on the power of the plant protection drone. Confirm that the remote controller has a satellite signal of at least eight or more. If the RTK signal is activated, ensure that it is displayed as manual operation. Add the pesticide to the RTK, press and hold the spray button to eliminate air, and check that all nozzles are not forked or clogged. If any issues arise, please clean them promptly. After performing the above checks and confirming that everything is in order, ensuring the safety of personnel around the aircraft and the operational area, you can start the operation.
